OUr newest addition

Ok, I took a while from the computer. Life for me gets really crazy around the holidays! (Sorry I haven't been visiting anyone else either!)

Things are getting back to normal.......but now we have another new family member! Her name is zoe and she is almost 6 months old. She is part shiz zue and part poodle...and weighs a wopping 8 pounds!

Change

Why does everyone want things to change??? Yahoo's new mail, and now blogger????? Hummmmmmm. Maybe I am getting old, 'cuz I don't like it!!!! I tried the yahoo mail.........it was ok, but I swiched back to the old style. Just had to vent a bit.

Well, things as usual are busy around here. I am not caught up on laundry or dishes. I still have Christmas gifts to buy, and wrapping...........IT WILL GET DONE! I like to have everything for Christmas done by now! (Yes, I have issues!) I asked Ryan what he is going to ask Santa for. "A cars coloring book and some crayons" OK, THE KID HAS DOZENS! I did think that was cute though!

Brie finished her first AWANA book already and is about half way through the second! (I have no clue how she does it!) On award night Jayson took work off early and suprised her! It was really cute!

Ok, gotta go, lunch to make!

Happy Halloween....a bit late!

Just a few pics of the kids from Halloween last night. I took the kids out to trick or treat for just a bit. Man it was really cold here.....about 25 degrees with a wind chill of about 10! Yuck! We also went to our church and they recreated the book of Exodis (Moses) It was really cool!

I can't believe all that has gone on in one week! I am about half way done with the quilt for my sisters baby. It is really bright.
My great aunt passed away, and my grandma didn't want to go to the funeral alone....so Sunday afternoon I boarded a plane with her and went to Denver CO! I haven't flown in about 12 years so I was a bit scared. We came back Monday night......a short trip! The plane ride home was very bumpy and I thought I might toss some cookies..........but I held up ok!
This Sunday is the shower I am doing for my sister, so I want to get the quilt done by then!

Who paints there butt orange????

I got the funniest or maybe sickest email today from my friend Kari! It said Happy Halloween and when you scroll down it is some persons butt painted orange with a jack-o-latern face! I know I am a bit off.............but I am thinking..........why didn't I think of that? (I am sure hubby would be up for a bit of butt paint!) WHO THINKS OF THAT! If you want to see it, send me your email and I can forward it to you too!

Anywho, back to school. Oh and Deb, MEA is a Minnesota teachers confrence when the kids get off. I am now addicted to free stuff from the web! (I only get the samples from the manufactures.......not the stupid ones that you have to fill out hundreds of questions and then complete the offer!) I have already gotten some shampoo and books! Whoooooooo hoooooooo, fun mail!

It's Wednesday

This week is MEA week.....so Brie has Thursday and Friday off (maybe)! I am so thankful, because she and Ryan both have a nasty cold.......fevers and all...........but she still has been getting the basics done!

It has been a bit cold outside..........so not much has been going on. Last night someone in our neighborhood "spooked" us! It is a really cute thing where you leave a note and goodies for the kids before halloween. I am still not sure who did it......but we are going to get a few homes tonight!

I learned something new!

Today I attended the local AWANA convention.........and I must say I had a wonderful time! (I wasn't sure if it would be a bit stuffy........) I went to some super workshops..........but the very best thing I learned was how to craft balloon animals! How cool is that?

Moon and motivation

I thought the harvest moon looked so cool........so I took my camera outside and just kept trying new things. I am really happy with the way it turned out. (Do you see the face?)









Ok, now I can tell you the motivation behind getting all of that stuff done! I threw a suprise party for my hubby and wanted to get the stuff done before everyone came! Thank goodness for my mother in law (pita) and SIL Jona! They helped me so much............last minute cleaning, serving food, clean up.....you name it! I have some pictures to post later! It rained up until about an hour before the party, but was a pretty nice day!

So now you now my secret, although I am going to try and keep up with some of the hectic pace..........I am making my sister a quilt for her baby and planning a shower for next month. I really do like to keep busy, but that was a bit much!

Thursday:
My Golden Birthday.......Took Brie to gym class, Mary has no wedding cake for her Saturday wedding!, went to dinner.................went to walmart, bought cake supplies.........baked five cakes, crumb coated two!

Friday:
Baked five more cakes, went to cousins wedding (three hour drive each way!), celebrated my birthday with my parents and sister, came home at 11:00...........frosted and decorated all of the cakes (five total, two layers each)

Saturday:
Went to bed by 4:00...........got up at 6:00! I went to the church, set up the cake and what was left to set up in the hall! Helped the BEAUTIFUL bride get dressed! Here is where it gets even more "special"! THe two ring bearers wouldn't go down the isle........so I stepped in and had to walk them down (Thank goodness I went home for a shower!) I had a very fun day.......but was tired!

Sunday: Stained the front porch, painted shed trim, went to my in laws for a belated birthday (very fun!), fixed a couch.

Ok, I also taught Brie, kept up on the dishes and laundry, and drank a lot of caffine! All went pretty smooth...............and I just got done cleaning my carpets today!

The kids planted two sunflowers in the garden.....Tuesday night I had to pull them both down. (They got nasty) I took this picture sometime in Aug.

This pic is of hubby when he was in high school. On the 5th of October he is going to be 30! Isn't he cute?!?!

9 Years!

Nine years ago today I was getting pictures taken before I married my best friend. Nine years, two kids, four cats, a hamster, some fish, and one month of a dog later I still kinda like the guy!

Summer????? WHere did it go?

I feel like there was really no summer this year...spring and now fall! Ok, we did do a few fun thing, but all in all it just flew by to darn fast!

Brie is working on her math right now.......so I have a few min to blog. She does really good on math.......phonics is getting better for her. She got all of her spelling words right, so that is good. I still have to send a letter to the school distric to let them know that she is homeschooled, but I have until the 1st of October......so I think that I will send it in next week.

I get to be a leader at our church for kindergarden AWANA......I think that should be fun. (AWANA is a bible program, other than that I know nothing!)

I had a bridal shower for my friend Mary yesterday. It turned out to be a cold rainy day.........but I think that it was still ok. I made her cake........the first one I have done in a while. I will post some pics later.

Brie was able to get to the top of the rock wall at our community center last week!!!! I think it is about 3 stories tall.........maybe 4! You would never know that she spent half the summer in a cast!
